Issues I work with

Issues I work with & areas of interest

In my practice, I support people experiencing a wide range of difficulties including:

Anxiety, stress, burnout, panicDepression, suicidal ideation, self-harmThe effects of traumaNeurodivergence (ADHD, Autism)Relationship strugglesIntrusive thoughts, OCD, health anxietyBereavement, griefLow self-esteemBody image issuesStruggles with gender identity/sexualityLife transitions

This is not an exhaustive list of the issues I have worked with throughout my career. If you are struggling with something that isn't mentioned here and feel interested in working together, I warmly invite you to get in touch or book a free consultation call so we can discuss it further.

It's also important to say that a desire to engage in therapy does not need to be justified by significant distress or crisis. You may feel generally content or balanced in your life, yet still feel curious about deeper self-reflection within a supportive therapeutic relationship. I very much welcome this in my practice.

There are a few client groups I have particular interest in working with, largely due to my own lived experience which contributes to a deep empathy and shared understanding. These include:

  • ~Adults with a history of childhood/developmental trauma
  • ~People who identify as neurodivergent or highly sensitive (HSP)
  • ~Those who come under the Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diverse umbrella (e.g. LGBTQIA+ individuals, people who are interested in or are practicing ethical non-monogamy/polyamory or alternative relationship structures, people who are interested in or practicing kink)
  • ~Clients curious about any of the following aspects of being human: embodiment/body awareness, deeper self-exploration and understanding, connection to nature, creativity, or spiritual/philosophical reflection

However, I welcome anyone, regardless of background or identity, who feels drawn to working with me. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you feel that what I offer may suit your needs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the cost & frequency?+

I offer 60 minute sessions at £70. Sessions can be booked to recur on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

I offer a limited number of concession rates for people on low income, benefits or experiencing financial hardship. The concession rate is £50 for 60 minute sessions. You may have up to 12 sessions at this rate. Please get in touch if you wish to inquire about a concession rate.

You may book one session at a time, or book sessions in blocks.

When do you see clients?+

My 1:1 therapy sessions run online on Tuesdays 10am–4pm GMT and Thursdays 10am–4pm GMT.

What is your cancellation policy?+

Sessions must be paid for at the time of booking, or for returning clients at least 48 hours before the session.

You are welcome to reschedule if necessary, provided you give at least 48 hours notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, or fail to attend, you will be charged the full session fee. This is in place to protect the needs of the business, honour my time, and encourage consistency which supports therapeutic development.

You will receive the full cancellation policy in writing when we agree to start working together.

What do I need to consider when attending therapy online?+

Online therapy has the benefit of being accessible wherever you are, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own space. Many clients are surprised by how meaningful and connected online therapy can feel. There are, however, some important considerations to ensure online therapy can work for you. You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a space that feels safe and comfortable to you.

All online sessions are completely private and confidential. I structure our online sessions in a way that helps you to settle into the space as we begin and feel a sense of closure as we end. Throughout our sessions, I always offer attentive presence, and gently invite you to stay connected to your body and surroundings while we are together in the digital space.

What is the difference between counselling & psychotherapy?+

There is not a clearly defined difference between these terms, and sometimes they are used interchangeably. I use the term ‘counselling’ to refer to a type of therapy that focuses more on immediate problems or concerns, such as a recent bereavement or work stressor, that may require shorter-term support. ‘Psychotherapy’ refers to a type of therapy that is usually longer-term, and can involve deeper exploration of complex issues and psychological patterns that may have their origins in past experiences. You don’t need to know if you would prefer counselling or psychotherapy when we start working together — we can respond flexibly to your needs throughout.

What can I expect from the therapeutic journey?+

Every person’s therapeutic process is different. Some may need shorter-term support (up to 12 sessions) while others will benefit from longer-term work. We begin with a free 15 minute consultation call that requires no commitment — just an informal chat about what you are hoping to get from therapy and to check that we are a good fit. If we decide to work together, our first session will usually involve more exploration of what is bringing you to therapy, and from there we can spend time talking through things, building relationship, exploring emotion and sensation, and drawing upon resources to help you. Together we can review how we are getting on throughout the journey, and we will plan a well supported ending of the work whenever you feel ready.
