Amy, therapist at Soft Ground Practice

About

Hi, I'm Amy

I'm the human behind Soft Ground Practice — Welcome! My mission here is to support you in the radical act of coming home to yourself. I provide holistic, trauma-informed therapy & resources that honour the whole of who you are — not as a problem to be fixed, but as a person navigating a complex world.

My approach weaves talking therapy, nervous system & body awareness, and creative or nature-based practices where helpful. Through a warm and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, I can help you lay down what is heavy and reconnect with your innate capacity to grow and thrive.

Issues I work with

You don't need to be in crisis to begin

A desire to engage in therapy does not need to be justified by significant distress. You may feel generally content, yet still feel curious about deeper self-reflection within a supportive therapeutic relationship.

If you're struggling with something not listed here and feel drawn to working together, I warmly invite you to get in touch.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the cost?+

I offer 60 minute sessions at £70. Sessions can be booked weekly or fortnightly. I also offer a limited number of concession rates at £50 for people on low income, benefits or experiencing financial hardship (up to 12 sessions).

When do you see clients?+

My 1:1 therapy sessions run online on Tuesdays 10am–4pm and Thursdays 10am–4pm GMT.

What about cancellations?+

Sessions must be paid for at the time of booking, or for returning clients at least 48 hours before the session. You are welcome to reschedule with at least 48 hours notice.

What do I need for online therapy?+

A reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a space that feels safe and comfortable to you. Many clients are surprised by how meaningful and connected online therapy can feel.

What can I expect from the therapeutic journey?+

Every person's process is different. Some may need shorter-term support (up to 12 sessions) while others benefit from longer-term work. We begin with a free 15 minute consultation call — no commitment required.

What is the difference between counselling & psychotherapy?+

I use 'counselling' to refer to therapy that focuses more on immediate concerns, and 'psychotherapy' for deeper, longer-term work. In practice, the two often weave together depending on what you need.
